Week - 10 Recap, Review

In the last class, Richard taught us optional features that we can use in nuke to further help us in our Final Project.

First he taught us about LightWrap Node - can help composite objects into a very bright background by wrapping or spilling light from the background onto the foreground object. The node creates a reflection of light around the edges of your foreground object by blending in whatever is in the background.

The next we learnt Glow Node - Causes bright areas in an image to appear brighter by adding glow using a blur filter. The next is Flare Node - This node simulates lens flares that are created by reflections between lenses inside a film or video camera when the camera is pointed towards a bright light source, such as the sun.

This class we did nothing practical all we did was see the tutorial that Richard had shared. The afternoon session was nothing but a discussion class.

Final Project Update
Decided what to do as my Final Project, a character model that gets up after a blackout and walks like a drunkard.
Already obtained the model as well as got the animations that will be used.

This module has shown me the amount of work a technical artist or game designer has to put in when composting/designing a film or game. I always would turn off Ambient Occlusion when playing games without knowing what it did just so I could save some frames thinking it would give me an advantage but now I have a general idea of what is and what it does.

There will be a separate blog on my Final Project.
